We are seeking an Automation Engineer with expertise in API testing, Kafka, and Python backend development. The role involves building automated test frameworks, validating Kafka data streams, and ensuring the performance and reliability of APIs and backend systems.

Location: 100% REMOTE. Working hours are based on the US Central Time Zone.

Job Description:

Key Skills

• Strong experience in API automation and Kafka (producers/consumers).
• Proficient in Python for scripting and backend logic.
• Hands-on with REST API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Required Skills:

• RestAPI automation with RestAssured (Java) or Python ( Request+Pytest).
• Database experience on MongoDB and Oracle DB.
• Kafka knowledge is added on.
• Validation between API and DB.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail to validate complex data flows.
• Clear communication and teamwork to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Proactive problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced, cloud-based environments.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for REST APIs using Python (Requests + Pytest) or RestAssured (Java).
• Perform validation between API responses and database records (MongoDB and Oracle).
• Design and execute Kafka data stream validations (producers/consumers).
• Collaborate with backend developers to ensure robust and scalable API implementations.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor and troubleshoot test failures and performance issues.
• Document test cases, results, and automation strategies.
• Support cloud-based deployments and testing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
