Job Description:

As the DevOps Data Engineer / Cloud Data Platform Engineer you will manage and optimize data infrastructure and data pipelines, ensuring seamless performance and monitoring.

Key Responsabilities:

  • Infrastructure & Monitoring:
    • Set up, configure, and maintain a data platform using Grafana, Prometheus, and InfluxDB/InfluxQL and ensure system health and proactive issue resolution.
    • Manage data collection agents (e.g., Telegraf) across various environments and use Azure Event Hub to integrate logs and metrics.
  • Cloud Management:
    • Deploy, manage, and scale applications and services on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring high availability and optimized performance.
    • Leverage Azure DevOps and Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, automated deployment pipelines, and CI/CD.
  • Scripting & Automation:
    • Develop, update and maintain data processing scripts in Python.
  • Platform & Tool Maintenance:
    • Use Windows command line tools (SSH, Telnet, SFTP, CURL) for connectivity troubleshooting and platform management.
    • Work within Linux environments to navigate directories, move files, and execute scripts as needed.
  • Authentication & Security:
    • Implement and troubleshoot Okta authentication to ensure secure user access and maintain robust security practices.
  • Networking & Connectivity:
    • Assist in diagnosing and debugging connectivity issues, with basic networking knowledge, including firewall troubleshooting, to support platform reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing and deploying cloud data infrastructure on Azure, including AKS.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure automation using Terraform and familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience with monitoring and data visualization tools, particularly Grafana, InfluxDB, and Prometheus.
  • Scripting skills in Python for data processing.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems and Windows command-line tools.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including firewall troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Okta for secure authentication.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience as a Scrum Master for a minimum of five years for a software development team that was applying
  • Agile/Scrum principles and practices that are consistent with those at The Company.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.

  • Proficient experience developing test frameworks with open-source automation tools such as Selenium web driver (required), and/or Cucumber.
  • Hands on knowledge of any Object Oriented Programming Language and writing automation scripts with C# as well as frameworks like Nunit or Xunit.
  • Proficient experience with a scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, Perl, JavaScript.
  • Experience working with Database testing techniques using Sybase, SQL server, or Oracle with a strong understanding of database schemas.
