We seek a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Team. This key team member will be central in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational excellence that power our GenAI platform. As a senior contributor, you will ensure that our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines are robust, scalable, and secure, supporting the needs of our fast-evolving healthcare SaaS products.

Location: 100% remote. Working hours based on PST Time Zone.

Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Design and Management
    -Architect, deploy and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure in the AWS ecosystem.
    -Manage and optimize services like ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and Lambda, ensuring high availability and performance.
    -Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to ensure infrastructure reliability and visibility.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
    -Design and manage infrastructure using IaC tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform to ensure repeatability and version control.
    -Establish and enforce best practices for IaC, including modularity, documentation, and Git-based workflows.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development
    -Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications and infrastructure across environments.
    -Integrate testing frameworks and security scans into pipelines to enforce quality and compliance standards.
    -Continuously improve deployment speed and reliability while minimizing downtime.
  • Kubernetes and Container Orchestration
    -Manage containerized applications using Kubernetes (EKS) or similar platforms.
    -Optimize resource usage, scaling policies, and service discovery to meet platform performance goals.
    -Implement Helm charts or other templating tools to simplify deployments.
  • Collaboration with Engineering and Platform Teams
    -Work closely with the software engineering teams to define infrastructure requirements and ensure smooth deployments.
    -Partner with the Platform Team to create scalable solutions for hosting, monitoring, and managing AI-based workloads.
    -Advocate for DevOps best practices and coach other team members on operational tooling and processes.
  • Security and Compliance
    -Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure, ensuring compliance with healthcare industry standards (e.g., HIPAA).
    -Work with the security team to conduct audits, manage secrets, and mitigate vulnerabilities.
    -Set up role-based access controls (RBAC) and other governance policies for safe cloud usage.
  • Automation and Efficiency Improvements
    -Automate routine tasks to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.
    -Proactively identify and address system bottlenecks or weaknesses, ensuring consistent platform performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise:
    -5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, focusing on AWS services (e.g., ECS, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, S3).
    -Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
    -Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS) or AKS.
  • DevOps Skills:
    -Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CodePipeline.
    -Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar).
    -Expertise in monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Datadog.
  • Platform Engineering:
    -Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g., VPCs, security groups, load balancing) in cloud environments.
    -Familiarity with scaling strategies, resource optimization, and cost management in cloud-native systems.
  • Security and Compliance:
    -Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud infrastructure, including secrets management, encryption, and role-based access control.
    -Experience working in compliance-heavy industries (e.g., healthcare) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    -Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
    -Strong communication and collaboration abilities, comfortable working across teams and mentoring junior engineers.
    -Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment with shifting priorities.

  • Previous experience in the healthcare or insurance sectors, with an understanding of industry-specific challenges.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML workloads and deploying AI-driven applications in production.
  • Experience with multi-environment setups, including staging, production, and disaster recovery configurations.
