We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Engineer with experience in designing and modeling plumbing systems for multifamily residential projects using Revit. The ideal candidate will have expertise in providing plumbing solutions that are efficient, sustainable, and compliant with all local building codes and regulations.   Most of the work will be for multifamily but may assist at times with other product types such as hospitality, medical, office, or others.

Location: 100% remote. Working hours are based on Central or Eastern US Time Zone.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop plumbing systems for multifamily residential buildings, including water supply, drainage, waste, vent, and natural gas systems.
  • Use Revit software to create accurate 3D models of plumbing systems and integrate them with other building systems (HVAC, electrical, etc.).
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other design professionals to ensure system integration and compliance with project requirements.
  • Perform detailed calculations and analysis for plumbing systems to ensure code compliance, energy efficiency, and system performance.
  • Prepare and review plumbing system drawings, layouts, and specifications for all stages of the project (conceptual, design development, and construction documentation).
  • Provide technical support to construction teams, ensuring that the plumbing installation aligns with the design intent.
  • Stay updated with the latest plumbing technologies, building codes, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Ensure project timelines and budgets are adhered to, and proactively identify and address design challenges.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing system design, with a focus on multifamily residential projects preferred
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD for plumbing design and modeling.  Revit will be most of the work but occasional CAD
  • Strong knowledge of local plumbing codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IPC, UPC).
  • Experience with energy-efficient and sustainable plumbing designs (e.g., water conservation).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred but not required.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and clash detection.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
