Job Description
Responsibilities:
IT Helpdesk– Unsupervised
- Diagnose and solve computer hardware, software and network issues.
- Setup new laptops and desktops, configure software (e.g. MS Office, VPN, etc.).
- Setupnewusers’ accounts, profiles and handle password issues.
- Workwith vendors to resolve any IT related issues independently.
- Identify users’ requirements and provide peripherals like keyboard, mouse, etc.
- Keep the asset and inventory updated.
- Ensure the onboarding or exit formalities are completed for employees.
Systems Administration– Unsupervised
- Create users and give appropriate rights using Active Directory.
- Install and update Windows and Mac software on client and server machines.
- Roll out software updates and patches using software update server.
- Preventive maintenance of user computers and servers including updates to OS, BIOS, antivirus, and firmware, disk clean-ups, defragmentation.
Network Administration- Unsupervised
- Support and administration of office network.
- Regularly monitor and manage server backups; test backup restores.
Network Administration- Under Supervision
- Configure network firewall.
- Configure DNS, DHCP.
- Client Infrastructure Maintenance.
- Setup and maintain clients’ servers in data center.
- Backups: define strategy, review strategy, configure, execute and test backups.
- Configure security policies as per best practices on clients’ servers.
- Maintain change log per clients’ standards.
- Review event logs of the server and alert the relevant team members when needed.
- Preventive maintenance of servers.
- Evaluate, test and install software and tools on servers.
Qualifications
- Experience in software, hardware and network troubleshooting.
- Experience in Windows, Windows Server, Mac OS.
- Some knowledge/experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Bind, Apache, MySQL, Nginx, etc.
- Some knowledge/experience with cloud hosting: AWS, Azure.
- Some knowledge/experience in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
- Knowledge of WDS, Hyper-V.
Personal Skills
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with various levels from junior developers to executive staff.
- Ability to stay calm, professional in troubleshooting and resolving support issues.
- Should like working with people and training others.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software.
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Ability to adjust tasks and schedule and adapt to changing priorities.
Education and Work Experience
- This individual should possess a graduate degree in a computer related field and have +2 years of experience in similar positions.
